Traffic jam on Everest

  1. What a great post! I think this image puts into perspective what commercialization has done to Everest. A once unimaginable feat is no longer impossible. The climb has come within reach of the people with the money to do it. Climbing companies that advertise these climbs combined with the new climbing technologies is making climbing easier than it once was. To a true climbers defense, this may be an image from base camp far away from the summit where technology is no longer relevant. But the point is, images like this were not a common scene even 5 years ago.
